ID@Xbox Crashes GDC…Again!

Microsoft has gotten busy this week at GDC. Indies from all over have taken part in the independent developers program, ID@Xbox, and are at the convention to show off their games!

There are over 30 different developers sharing awesome titles this week. Some are a little more known (like Hi-Rez’s super popular MOBA SMITE) and while others have just recently been announced (Team 17’s LA Cops). Of course, anything from The Behemoth is worth looking at. They’ll be showing their new title, Game 4 at the Xbox booth as well. Then there’s Pixel Galaxy, Shovel Knight (yup, it’s coming to Xbox One), Mighty No. 9, Wasteland 2, The Flame in the Flood and more.

All of them look great – I’m especially looking forward to Rivals of Aether, a 16 bit fighter that challenges you to uncover the elemental mysteries of Fire, Water, Air and Earth. It also seems to feature gameplay similar to that of Super Smash Bros. where the only way to dispatch your foes is by knocking them past the edge of the screen.

Another favorite of mine is Cuphead. Its cartoon visuals make it one of the best looking games at GDC. Period! Oh and it’s run and gun gameplay is also great.

Microsoft is making good on their promise to help independent developers; there are way more games being shown than last year’s convention. Here’s hoping we get some of these titles in the near future!
