Nintendo Reveals New Games, Smash Character and More in Latest Direct Video

Nintendo had a lot to show in their latest direct. Not only did they offer details on previously announced games, they also revealed a number of surprises.

They didn’t take long to get to the good stuff. The video begins with a trailer for Overwatch Legendary Edition. Fans will be able to battle alongside Tracer, Genji, D.Va and the rest of the game’s characters while on the go.

Blizzard’s hit shooter lands on the Switch on October 15th. There were other ports of note as well. Return of the Obra Dinn, for example, is headed to the Switch this fall. This stylish indie game follows the story of an insurance investigator as he goes about solving the mystery of the Obra Dinn – a ship that went missing for years, only to reappear in England sans survivors.

Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Doom 64, Devil May Cry 2, and Deadly Premonition are just a few of the games being ported to the Switch. New games were also announced. Games like Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise, which was super shocking. Who thought Deadly Premonition would ever get a sequel?

Previously announced games got release dates, Hi-rez revealed a new free-to-play game called Rogue Company, and Super Smash Bros. finally welcomed Banjo & Kazooie to the fold. That was before revealing that Terry Bogard was coming in November.

All and all, this Nintendo Direct was full of exciting news. There seemed to be something for everyone. Which is one of the Switch’s selling points, aside from the first party exclusives and being portable.
