Fallout 76 Gets “Wild” in Latest Update

Bethesda released the first slate of content for the Fallout 76, Wild Appalachia update today. Featuring new crafting systems, events and a new questline, fans might want to pop back into the wasteland to see what’s going on.

Fallout 76 wasn’t what fans expected; our review spoke to its perceived worth, given all of the bugs and whatnot. That said, Bethesda has been working hard to improve the game. This latest update continues in this regard by offering players some interesting content. Like the new brewing and distilling mechanics that allow them to make a variety of drinks. Some of them will help players deal with the many dangers of the wasteland. Others aren’t so helpful, often producing hilarious effects – the Firecracker Whiskey will set both players and their enemies on fire whenever they land an attack.

The update brings new quests that’ll send players to undiscovered areas of West Virginia, a Survival Mode, and new C.A.M.P. features, one of which is the ability to become a vendor. It also makes way for a new seasonal event called the Fasnacht Parade. Coming March 19th, this limited-time (yet repeatable) quest will task players with helping a few NPCs prep for a special parade. If everything goes according to plan, then the robotic denizens will march through the streets as they celebrate Fasnacht. That is until they draw the attention of some nasty monsters…

The event only lasts a week, ending on March 26th. Players who participate in the event will unlock special masks and Fasnacht themed C.A.M.P. plans.

Fallout 76 might not be the best thing since New Vegas, but it is better than it was at launch. Here’s hoping Bethesda continues to improve the game with interesting updates and meaningful content!
